Will ensure that AAR is receiving goods in a timely manner at the best overall price and continues to develop and build strong relationships with the companys vendors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES -Review requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures for any inbound part. -Develop strong relationship with all vendors and ensure that AAR is getting the best possible services, value, and prices on quotes against goods. -Bring new vendor line knowledge. -Make recommendation to management who is the overall best vendor by price, quality, and performance. -Identify and make improvements in overall inventory processes. -Effectively manage production materials to meet production goals, minimize shortages and maximize inventory turns. Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and data integrity. -Confer with management in determining needs and delivery schedules. -Able to solicit bids and evaluate quotes. -Expedite purchase orders. -Strong negotiation skills -Advanced knowledge of how to research and procure hard to find parts. -High energy level with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a proficient manner. -Capable of deciphering part prints and drawings. -Ability to determine sourcing for any outside processing -May coach other Buyers. -Develop and maintain a forecast model for high dollar, high demand items based on expected work-scope and scrap rates. -Produce accurate monthly optimized forecasts, which combine the statistical forecast model and the logical forecast model into an overall forecast. -Liaison with the Value Stream Managers and other departments to ensure that forecast and replenishment plans are accurate and are being utilized by the Value Stream Managers and other departments. -Ensure flow-down to suppliers of requirements from customer contracts -Travel is required. -Promote a team environment with a positive attitude. -Adhere to all AAR Composites Safety procedures and Safety accountabilities (Ref: SP-011). -All other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Proficiency with computer based applications, Microsoft Office and Computer Aided Design software.
