Description
The Senior Research Associate within the Process Development and Automation Engineering Group will support the development team in the transfer of new research protocols and products into the CLIA production laboratory. This role requires a broad knowledge of molecular biology and assay development techniques, especially for NGS based diagnostic products.
Responsibilities:- Support the transfer of tests from research to production and interfacing with both the production and research teams to improve and scale up new and existing products.
- Support automated method development including the automation of manual processes to on high throughput robotic liquid handlers.
- Collaborate with other development scientists to conduct stability studies, testing and verification for reagents and mixtures.
- Carefully design experiments for process characterization, performance qualification of equipment, and the development of QC SOPs for the process reagents.
- Support the analysis of the experimental data and prepare the documentation including operating procedures and reports, and ensure the successful implementation in the labs.
- Helping with operational pain points by proactively looking for improvement, supporting samples preparation and reagents aliquoting for experimental studies.
Requirements- B.S. or M.S. with more than 4 years of experience supporting assay development and the transfer of new products from research to production, with emphasis on Process development in a CLIA regulated laboratory environment.
- Understanding of essential molecular biology and methods such as PCR, library preparation for NGS, nucleic acid quantification and purification.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers and development of reagent QC.
- Proven success working individually and in within a team, detail-oriented individual with the proven ability to think logically and innovatively toward problem-solving.
- Skilled at writing clear SOPs, summarizing data analysis in reports and solid communication skills.
