Company Description
Company description:
Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. For us, life's not about a job, it's about purpose. We believe real change starts with conversation. Here, your voice matters. Come as you are and together we'll do what's right (not what's easy) to serve the public conversation.
Job Description
Job Description:
Do you remember when Twitter eggs were the scourge of Twitter discourse? Undifferentiated profiles felt like an anonymous mob that came to represent all of the bad behavior on the platform. By pushing more customers to complete their profile, we gave everyone they interacted with a better ability to assess their trustworthiness.
For many of the jobs that customers hire Twitter for, it’s critical that they understand who they’re interacting with and that they’re able to find their own voice to express themselves. You’d join a team that’s working to make the Profile more flexible and expressive, so that it’s easier for customers to make connections and trust the accounts they engage with.
In this role, you will:
- Build on a space that hundreds of millions of people use every day to understand each other and be understood
- Become an expert on a particular segment of customers and find opportunities for Twitter to serve them better
- Help shape the strategy for the Twitter Profile, including the blue Verified badge for notable accounts
- Collaborate with engineering, research, design, and data science to launch Profile features that our customers love and fully reflects the diverse needs of all Twitter users
- Define how we measure success as we evolve the Profile and work closely with Data Science to track progress, make analytical decisions, and drive clarity for the team
- Own a product roadmap that prioritizes high-impact solutions to important customer problems and contributes to the key company objectives
- Represent the work of the team with leadership and key partners across the company
Qualifications
Qualifications:
This might be the right role for you if you:
- Have a demonstrated history of shipping products that consumers love (for example, 4+ years as a Product Manager)
- Are comfortable working with user researchers and designers to challenge our assumptions and continuously re-center our work on the customer needs
- Have a working understanding of software development and technical depth that lets you partner with and earn the respect of world-class engineers
- Are familiar with data analysis and know how to ask specific questions to help Data Scientists answer questions decisively
- Are an active user of the Twitter product and are aware of social media landscapes in general
- Facilitate thoughtful and constructive conversations between members of your team, as well as with other members of leadership
- Receive feedback openly and graciously and deliver feedback to your team or other stakeholders in ways that are supportive and meaningful
- Can lead numerous projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and time constraints
- Enjoy making difficult things happen and solving the many challenges along the way
- Are patient, determined, flexible, and open-minded
- Have a passion for building inclusive products that generate user growth responsibly
- Care about online identities and how Twitter Profiles can impact the public conversation
