JOB DESCRIPTION SENIOR MEDICAL EDITOR, (US, UK) - EVIDERA
*We are looking to fill this role remotely or in one of our office locations in the UK or US
The Editorial & Design Services (EDS) team is a group of highly skilled medical editors and graphic designers whose technical proficiency, focus on quality, and professionalism add value to a variety of study documents at each level of client engagement. Our experienced medical editors improve overall readability and ensure that a final deliverable is clean, accurate, logical, consistent, and impactful. Our expert graphic designers work with internal and external clients to transform complex scientific information into highly designed, meaningful imagery.
Position Overview:
The team is currently seeking a full-time Sr. Medical Editor with demonstrated editorial experience and ability. The ideal candidate will:
- Be an expert copyeditor with a keen eye for detail
- Work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills to meet multiple, often competing deadlines
- Have experience working in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare spaces
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Demonstrates advanced level of technical and intermediate-level line editing as determined by internal quality standards
- Copyedits internal and external deliverables to meet applicable quality standards, including Evidera’s in-house style guide
- Applies advanced formatting to a variety of study documents, including text, data tables, and basic charts
- Works independently with little direction from Manager or internal customers
- Manages time efficiently, ensuring timely delivery to customers
- Demonstrates ability to work tight internal deadlines without sacrificing product quality, making effective decisions regarding competing priorities
- Leverages expert software knowledge to serve as a resource for more complicated requests and troubleshooting exercises
- Assists in new hire onboarding and training as requested by team leadership
Job Qualification Education, Professional Skills, & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) and 5+ years of experience in medical, scientific, or technical editing, preferably in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare spaces
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office package, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe InDesign, and/or EndNote is a plus
- Infrequent evening/night/weekend work may be required
Personal Skills & Competencies:
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and provide leadership to deliverable review process
- Must demonstrate the ability to work tight internal deadlines without sacrificing product quality, making informed decisions regarding competing priorities
