Job Description
The Sr. Analyst – Finance role will be a part of the Information Delivery team within the Global IT Group and will be focused on building Finance business intelligence solutions that support the growth agenda of the entire organization. As one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world, Newell relies heavily upon consolidated financial data and analytics, and has a suite of existing tools supporting BI in this space. This role will be responsible for working with internal customers to derive value out of these existing solutions as well as building new solutions, partnering with internal development teams and outside consulting partners. This role will work closely with senior leaders in the organization to build program roadmaps, build and manage budgets, certify and manage vendor partners, create and execute training and change management plans, and ensure adoption across the enterprise.

Job Duties
- Functions as the liaison for the finance reporting strategy. Engages the business to ensure that the BI vision / reporting solutions are properly communicated and adopted
- Gathers requirements and documents functional specifications - obtains approvals from the business, drives standards, utilizes a common design approach
- Aides the business in responding to key business questions, requiring detailed knowledge of available data, and requiring strong capability on enterprise reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP BEx, Microstrategy, etc.).
- Assists with the management of projects to implement new BI capabilities, working with architecture, development and onboarding teams within BI.
- Stays abreast of ongoing initiatives in the finance organization and plans adaptations to BI solutions to align with changing business needs
- Maintains documentation for standard reports, metrics, and BI solution used by finance and helps onboard new resources using these playbooks and documentation.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience working with finance teams on various reporting initiatives, preferably in a business/financial analyst role
- 2+ years in CPG or Retail highly preferred. Must understand how finance data is used in this CPG industry.
- For finance, experience working with P&Ls, general ledger, trial balances, chart of accounts, forecasts, budgets, and financials planning and consolidations systems.
- Top-tier communication skills. Must include experience leading workshops and design sessions and gathering business requirements from stakeholders.
- Understanding of SDLC for BI.
- Passion for data quality and best practices supporting data accuracy
- Energetic, self-motivated, and a fast learner with a proven ability to come up with creative reporting solutions quickly
- Detail oriented, demands excellence, and is results-driven
Preferred Qualification
- Technical experience with SAP ECC, COPA, SAP BW/BEx, and/or Hyperion
- SQL and Excel skills
- Some technical experience with Microsoft Azure/Power BI stack highly preferred. Knowledge of other BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, etc) also valuable.
Education
- A four-year degree in a Finance/Accounting preferred. A technology or engineering degree with an emphasis and proven work experience in Finance would be considered.
