Position
Eikon Therapeutics has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Manager/Associate Director of Finance/Controller at its offices in Hayward, CA. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations who has responsibility for all G&A functions at Eikon and you will also work in collaboration with our external senior level finance consultant. In this position you will have a diverse set of responsibilities that includes: accounting, financial planning and administration.

What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain the accounting system, procedures, and policies, including all general accounting functions in coordination with your manager
- Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data
- Lead the monthly close process (critical accruals, reviews, journal entries) and run review meetings with business partners as needed
- Interact with financial auditors
- Work with your manager in interactions with Eikon's Audit Committee
- Manage the annual budget & forecasting processes
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, and explain and investigate any variance
- Respond to investor requests for financial and other data
- Prepare slides and analyses for Senior Management Team, Audit Committee and Board of Directors
- Maintain capitalization table along with outside counsel
Key Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business discipline is required
- An advanced degree, such as an MBA, is preferred
- 7 to 8 years of financial & accounting experience (with 3+ of those in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred)
- Management experience is desired
- Strong communication skills - able to work effectively with both scientists/engineers and Board of Directors / Audit Committee
- Ability can develop processes and approaches to fit new circumstances
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and life sciences finance and accounting issues
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Suite with expert knowledge of Excel
