Job Summary:

Creative team member with demonstrated digital marketing skills and experience. Areas of responsibility include: web site design and content creation; producing print and digital advertisements; managing a compliant social media presence; creating accessible electronic versions of print and collateral pieces; developing/customizing apps; creating infographics and sales tools and resources. Must be a talented communicator, multi-task well, and be budget and deadline-conscious.

The Sr. Digital Marketing Specialist, Content and Social Media, will be responsible for implementing a digital communication strategy across web properties and social media. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications teams, the Sr. Marketing Specialist will recommend and implement digital solutions that help to achieve business goals. This position reports to the Marketing Manager, Digital Content.

Job responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with team members across the enterprise to ensure digital content aligns with business goals and meets brand standards
  • Oversee the execution of the corporation’s digital communication strategy for owned public facing digital channels and social media
  • Assist in the creation of a formal social media policy and guidelines to lay a foundation for future profile creation, management and maintenance and ensure compliance across the enterprise
  • Develop best practices for employee distribution of content on social media
  • Manage social media management tool, develop templates and guidelines for use, and train contributors and ensure compliance to standards
  • Monitor and manage Markel’s digital reputation on social media and review sites
  • Develop new and revised digital copy as needed for public facing web properties
  • Develop search engine optimization strategies and identify content opportunities utilizing keyword research
  • Build strategy for blog (Resource Library) development and content
  • Manage intranet content and communication for the Digital Team
  • Track and report engagement in digital marketing content and social media initiatives

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required
  • 5+ years prior experience in digital marketing, including digital content and social media
  • Demonstrated expertise in copywriting for web
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise on digital, social media marketing as well as search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Ability to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with digital asset management tools
  • Experience with SEMRush, Hotjar, and Hootsuite strongly desired
