Job Description Job 1: Job 2: Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as valves, actuators, starters, controls, etc. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 4-6 years of ANSYS structural analysis experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. o Material selection (i.e. base material, coatings, platings)
o Grade, type (note: typical Tempe bearings include deep groove, angular contact, roller/needle and pure thrust bearings), cage, preload, shield/seal, and rolling element selection
o Internal geometry effects on load capacity, bearing stiffness, and fatigue life
o Thermal effects on internal / external clearances and material
o Incorporating environmental effects (i.e. low pressure or vacuum, humidity, salt, high contamination, extreme low or high temperatures) in bearing analysis
o Calculating Hertzian contact stresses. Calculating B10 life using fatigue approach and/or field experience
Proficient with ANSYS Workbench or APDL - static and dynamic structural analysis
Able to work independently to perform 3D FEA using standard procedures and guidelines
Write & publish reports in clear concise English using standard report templates
Able to handle multiple projects at the same time and prioritize accordingly
