Essential Job Functions: 1. Engages in scholarly research on topic of expertise.
2. Conducts research in area of expertise, writing results for inclusion in broader research project. Designs and applies scientific and numerical models in research. Oversees development of data collection and instruments. Monitors integrity of data collection and use of protocols and procedures.
3. Searches for new funding sources, manages the completion of renewal grants, and researches and writes new grants.
4. Contributes both collaboratively and independently to externally funded research.
5. Writes trial methodologies including designing trial materials, briefing team of investigators with instructions on how to conduct the trials, setting up trial study centers, authenticating case report forms and monitoring overall progress throughout the trial.
6. Conducts clinical trials involving studies on human participants, which are designed to answer specific questions about medicine and/or behaviors.
7. May collaborate on new curricular offerings and course instruction.
8. May be responsible for recruiting and screening patients, maintaining patient care in terms of health and progress, and submitting the findings upon completion.
9. Works collaboratively with medical providers or providers other disciplines.
10. Engages in a range of service activities including student mentorship and participation on college committees.
11. Participates in professional development activities.
12. Completes other projects as required.
13. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Job Requirements:
Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
2. Florida Speech-Language Pathology license.
Required Education: Master's degree
Major (if required): Speech-Language Pathology
Required Experience: Minimum three (3) years’ experience in speech and language pathology.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences and Disorders.
2. Experience treating neuromuscular and neurodegenerative speech and swallowing disorders
3. Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative and diverse research team.
4. Demonstrated commitment to grant writing and effective teaching and mentoring.
