Job Description

The Fiscal/Budget Specialist reports to the NV Grow Program Director who is within the NLV VP/Provost Division and will be officed at the NLV Campus. The purpose of this position is to provide financial management and coordination for the NV Grow Program grant-funded budgets, including but not limited to creating revising, tracking, and monitoring program expenditures, submission and monitoring of purchases, payroll, travel requests/claims and mileage reimbursements, as well as monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reconciliations. This individual works closely with NV Grow staff members, CSN financial departments, Human Resources, and the Office of Sponsored Projects. This position is also responsible for preparing fiscal/financial reports required by the State and Federal grant and by CSN/NV Grow administration.

The ideal candidate would possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities.


  • Knowledge of college financial services, purchasing and contracts processes and procedures.
  • Team and Customer Services Skills: Actively looking for ways to help staff, CSN support departments, students, clients, and administrative team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Communication effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Speaking to others to convey information effectively and with courtesy. Display active listening by giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking time to understand the points being made.
  • Reports: Ability to prepare and generate financial reports/spreadsheets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of division classes, products and services and ability to inform internal and external customers with correct contacts.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule based on workload demands.
  • Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality with reporting and budget monitoring.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment ad operations
  • Ability to learn new software applications and implement for efficiencies and service improvements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 1 to 2 years related professional OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in preparing fiscal/financial reports required by the State and Federal grant

Starting Salary Range

Administrative Faculty Grade B

$38,549 - $41,247*

  • This position is funded by grant dollars and is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
