The Special Projects Coordinator operates as the interface between the toxicology group personnel and customers, and is responsible for building strong client relationships, providing customers with the appropriate level of service and ensuring the customer knows what to expect from the laboratory. The Special Projects Coordinator will have shown excellent success in dealing with customers and will have a deep knowledge of methods and regulatory drivers.

• Obtain a clear understanding from the clients as to the project schedule and requirements and set up projects
• Transmit project schedules, technical and turn-around requirements accurately to the analytical groups, and obtain their commitment to meet the requirements
• Work with operations to ensure adequate capacity to meet incoming projects
• Manage incoming work and priorities
• Proactively communicate to clients any scheduling conflicts, analytical problems, or questions that could impact either the quality or TAT of results
• Inform Operations & QA of impacts to either quality or TAT
• Assist clients with project timelines, expectations, and questions
• Participate in client calls along with Toxicology Technical Director and Group Leaders
• Assist Toxicology Group Leaders with protocol and report writing
• Review project’s requirements (permits, SOW, QAPP, compound list, EDD, reporting format, regulatory limits, etc.) and ensure that results meet project’s requirements
• Ensure that case narratives are complete, accurate, and comprehensible
• Help Toxicology Technical Director and Group Leaders implement of new technologies to reduce costs and maximize operating efficiencies whenever possible by effectively managing and developing technology solutions
• Adhere to company policies regarding data and client ethics
• Other duties as assigned

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. • Bachelors Degree required. Masters or PhD strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of project management experience

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of environmental regulations and laboratory methods is a plus
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Maintain professional attitude when interacting with clients
• Able to multi task under strict deadlines
• Flexible in work schedule including overtime
