VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

SpEd/SpCare Educational Assistant @ Liberty Elementary,

7.5 hours per day, 2021/22 school year

GENERAL DUTIES:

Perform a variety of instructional duties assisting a licensed staff member in the implementation of a specific program for individual students or small groups.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• English language, spelling, mathematics, and technology.
• Behavior management techniques.
• Computers and software.

ABILITY TO:

• Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers
• Ability to follow general oral and written instructions
• Carry out duties of special care for students with behavior, medical or daily living skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in task performance
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($59 fee)
• Ability to meet the “Highly Qualified” paraprofessional requirements (*over for info)

EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience working with students and public is desirable

WAGES: $14.26 - $15.74 per hour (DOE and per OSEA Union Agreement)
