FTE: 0.001000 *1.0 FTE is Full-Time any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time* *Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical dental and vision benefits* Shift: Shift 1 Summary: Responsibilities: Must be bilingual in English and Spanish language to be interpreted solid knowledge of medical terminology and competence in communicating the meaning of terms. Strong ability to interpret diagnostic processes treatments procedures preventive care and be culturally competent Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients their families and health care providers. Ability to perform under stressful situations and medical emergencies. Ability to produce written translation of material such as: various forms documents patient letters and other material. Formal interpreter training. 40 hour medical interpretation training program. CCHI or NBCMI Certification. To facilitate culturally and linguistically competent communication between individuals with Limited English Proficiency(LEP) and medical providers in a manner that promotes patient safety and confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
A minimum of one year of experience in providing medical interpreting in English and the Spanish language is required. Three years of directly related experience. Experience at a Level I Trauma Center. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in related field. Professional Medical Interpreter Program. Valid Wisconsin Drivers Licenses required.
