Employment Type : Full-Time
Role This is a part-time position (25.5 hours per week). Under close supervision, is responsible for the work of average difficulty in the operation of transfer station equipment, and in the operation, maintenance and repair of county transfer station facilities and other county facilities. Responsible for measuring and determining tire loads and charging accordingly. Collects and disposes of solid waste and dead animals from county right of ways, assists in removal and disposal of dead trees from county right of way and other property, assists in abatement of hazard waste sites. Handles cash and gives change, and maintains daily written logs. Operates motor vehicles and equipment not requiring a CDL; assists in community clean up operations, assists in collection and disposal of waste, tires and appliances. Assists in maintenance of transfers stations. Assists in construction and maintenance of county facilities. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Expectations: To operate equipment safely and efficiently with zero accidents. To effectively perform manual labor under any type of weather conditions. To acquire and maintain knowledge of operation and servicing of solid waste equipment and solid waste removal and disposal. Must have ability to handle cash and give change. Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year experience involving work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Work involves minimal contacts, usually within the county and generally with immediate co-workers. Contact usually involves routine, non-sensitive issues. External contacts are limited to incidental contacts with the public, or no contact.
Other Skills:
Must possess a current Arizona driver's license.
