The MDABM IRAD is seeking a SW Development Lead and potentially deputy Principal Investigator. The candidate will need to possess strong software knowledge and capabilities as well as the desire and ability to lead other software developers. Areas for growth in this position include the potential to assume the role of Deputy Principal Investigator, assuming some portion of the Principal Investigators responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
1) project management (such as managing Budget, Scope, Schedule)
2) acting as the Product Owner representing the IRAD to both internal and external organizations.
3) Regularly interfacing with other organizations to coordinate attendance at events
4) Ensure alignment of the IRAD with Business Interests
5) Ensure that technological decisions are in line with long term technology strategy
6) Determine long and short term strategy of a multi-year IRAD effort
7) Ensure alignment with Air6500 and ABMS Prototype needs
8) Management Tactical Software requirements as a baseline for acceptance of IRAD development
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of Java, Javascript, and HTML5
• Experience as a Team Lead

Desired Skills:

• Python, Project Management, Jira, Confluence, Kubernetes, Docker, Drools
