Software Development Operations Manager Details

Bio-Rad is looking for a Software Development Operations Manager who is excited about growing and leading the software infrastructure team. The team supports the infrastructure and tools for software desktop and embedded device development in Life Science. Our products are used by our customers to create new cancer therapeutics, gene therapies, and diabetes diagnostics and treatments. You’ll be working with software developers, firmware engineers, and scientists, creating our next generation instruments and applications supporting scientific research and discovery!

Responsibilities
  • Manage the operations and infrastructure support from Software Development to Deployment for the software department.
  • Manage Infrastructure Team members and Project manage tasks, activities, and team direction.
  • Build agile relationship and capabilities between Software Team, Project Teams, and IT operations.
  • Support and maintain the infrastructure and tools required for Software Development, Operations, and Testing.
  • Manages projects and personnel by establishing schedules, assigning work, resolving problems, and monitoring results.
  • Leads the staff in the execution of product development and product support activities.
  • Assesses results and reports to management on technical projects under his/her direction.
  • Submits key metrics to upper management.
  • Determine external vendors, negotiates contracts.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Computer Science.
  • 3-5 years managing direct reports and developing goals and development plans.
  • Advanced Experience with Configuration Management, Build Management, Release Management tools, automation, and scripting languages.
  • Well versed in Software Development Life Cycle, Agile Development process using scrum with continuous integration, development, and deployment methodology and tools.
  • Experience in AWS cloud development and deployment.
  • Experience in Networking, Testing, and Security.
  • Team Player and Leader with excellent communication skills.
  • Nice to Have Skills: GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, AWS, Security.
