Software and Systems Design Engineer, Junior Details

Key Role:

Work as clients’ most trusted advisor and essential partner. Develop expertise in domains, stakeholder relationships, and advanced capabilities to identify stakeholders' business and system requirements and translate or decompose them into actionable software requirements, test criteria, and scenarios. Assist with performing complicated and difficult software and systems design engineering assignments requiring a high degree of technical competence reflecting current state-of-the-art applications. Assist with technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects in the design and development of computer systems hardware and software. Assist with preparing and design specifications, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval and provide technical guidance to other engineers and design support personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC), IT systems design, testing, IT Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software, or hardware integration
  • Experience with requirements gathering and analysis
  • Experience with designing and implementing development, test, and production environments
  • Knowledge of current technology trends for the potential application of current and emerging technology solutions to meet client requirements
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • BA or BS degree
  • Ability to obtain Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification within 6 months of hire

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with ensuring APIs are developed and delivered to standards
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with the Project Management Framework
  • Knowledge of agency or intelligence community (IC) and IT infrastructures
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills to successfully interact with clients, engineers, and managers
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Certified Scrum Master Certification a plus
  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification
