Business & Shopper Insights Analyst

Kayem Foods is looking for a shopper insights analyst to leverage sales performance and shopper behavior data to develop strategic and actionable insights for Kayem Food’s portfolio of brands, its key competitors and the categories in which Kayem competes. This role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of brands and categories across a broad group of retailers including Walmart, Kroger and Safeway/Albertsons. The shopper insights analyst role offers high visibility inside and outside the organization and he/she is a key contributor and partner to the sales team, brand team, retail brokers, senior management and retail accounts.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage syndicated data partner relationships including all contract negotiations, ad hoc reporting and partner consultant resources
  • Create standardized and custom reports within syndicated data platforms
  • Provide monthly analysis of sales data and market trends at an account level to sales managers and brand teams highlighting key challenges and opportunities
  • Proactively evaluate new data resources and make recommendations on additions or adjustments to the syndicated data that Kayem uses to support its brands
  • Use key insights from sales data and promotional calendars to provide recommendations to sales managers to help optimize trade/promo spend on an account-by-account basis
  • In partnership with sales and brand teams, develop key account reviews and product pitch decks
  • Routinely attend and participate in key account calls with sales team

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years’ work experience preferably in consumer-packaged goods
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems in order to develop strong selling stores from sales data
  • Proficient in syndicated sales data: IRI
  • Experience with consumer panel data preferred
  • Proficient computer skills; advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint including ability to create graphs and pivot tables
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Willing to travel on sales calls as needed
