This opportunity is in our brand-new building which is up and running! Temperature controlled-you will be working indoors in shirtsleeves during the winter. We have room for 6 trailers at one time or various combinations of tractors and trailers in our huge bays.

In our Local Delivery and OTR operation, the person hired as Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the terminal shop. The person in this position will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the professionals who diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain our fleet of tractors, trailers, forklifts and other mechanical equipment. This is a highly visible role within the organization and the incumbent must frequently and tactfully interact with our driving staff and operations management while evaluating and executing their equipment repair needs.

The role will include but not be limited to the following tasks:

  • Supervise and monitor the performance of the staff
  • Create, manage and inspect work orders
  • Prioritize the work activities of all your staff which includes maintaining a work schedule to ensure adequate manpower during peak service hours
  • Provide training as necessary to have workers be up to date with latest technology and trends
  • Hire, Mentor and Coach less experienced staff to increase their skill levels and abilities to perform higher level repair and maintenance functions
  • Supervise safety within the shop, minimizing risk for work related injuries
  • Inspect all completed work
  • Perform skilled higher-level repair and/or maintenance as necessary
  • Supervise a schedule of preventive maintenance on all equipment
  • Maintain parts inventory, and supervise inventory manager to insure requisitions, supplies and materials are stocked as needed; meet with vendors or suppliers as necessary
  • Maintain all records electronically

Skills and experiences necessary to perform the job adequately include but are not limited to:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance is mandatory.

Ability to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about them.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).

Excellent communicator, troubleshooter and proactive problem solver.

Excellent time management skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Knowledge of TMT software a plus.


We seek an experienced mechanic who has managed a staff of mechanics! At least 5 years diesel mechanic experience on tractors, trailers and forklifts and some supervisory experience is required
