SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Safely operates, maintains and carries out assigned tasks of the Shipping operation. Responsible for instructing, directing and coordinately various production operators to assist in the orderly movement of finished products. Responsible for getting materials to the dock and loading trucks. As schedule allows, may operate in the capacity of Assembler I, Inspector or Forklift Operator.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists with assembly of products for shipping.
2. Verifies shipping orders for quantities and destinations.
3. Check items to be shipped against work orders.
4. Collects serial numbers from products.
5. Coordinates with Shipping Coordinator as to any situations that may cause delays in shipments and/ or suggest corrective actions.
6. Operates forklift to move materials, parts and products following all safety regulations to as not to affect their quality.
7. Operates basic computer programs.
8. Coordinates and instructs other shipping employees to complete the shipping process.
9. Trains shipping employees on shipping processes, i.e. assembly, loading and unloading trucks, etc.
10. Handles parts and materials involved in the shipping process.
11. Ensures materials and parts are available for orders coming down the line.
12. Maintains quantities of materials, parts and products.
13. Maintains inventory of various materials, parts and products, i.e. locations and quantities.
14. Required to work any physical inventory as scheduled.
15. Performs routine clerical assignments in accordance with established procedures and under specific instructions.
16. Performs routine maintenance in work area, i.e. sweeping and basic clean up.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualification of a successful candidate includes knowledge of carrier, freight and shipping processes. Basic computer and word processing skills; including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel. Ability to read and understand directions, shipping orders, blueprints, MSDS sheets, procedures and checklists. Ability to complete schedules, work orders and to accumulate/ record data in compliance with Hoover and ISO procedure and the ability to clearly write directions for others. Ability to clearly explain, demonstrate and give instructions on the shipping operation. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to keep accurate inventory. Ability to determine freight rates, tariffs and inventory items involved in shipping materials and products. Ability to measure routing distances and the ability to recognize volume needed for carrier shipments. Forklift Operator Certification required. Must have a High School Diploma. Some advanced level computer courses are beneficial. 3-5 years successful experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferable in a shipping position and ISO facility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Moderate physical effort, which requires standing on a concrete floor for prolonged periods of time and going up and down steps.
2. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
3. Good hand and eye coordination.
4. Good visual acuity.
5. Must be able to climb, stoop and bend in order to get up and down on forklift and perform various situations in production as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
