Wing Inflatables is interviewing NOW for a Shipping Manager position in our Arcata plant. We enjoy a fast-paced work environment, with tons of just-in-time manufacturing projects that are built here and shipped around the world. We manufacture custom-built marine inflatables for the most demanding domestic and international customers. We are looking for a positive, dependable, and flexible leader who is very comfortable with scheduling, preparing and tracking detailed domestic and international shipments and getting them to our customers on-time and on-budget. Since this role will involve handling multiple government contracts, coordinating information from our sales and manufacturing teams, and maintaining all deliveries and logistics software, we expect the applicant to be immediately comfortable within a shipping warehouse and committed to quickly learning our current shipping processes, government specifications, and MRP system. Although this is a hands-on position, we want someone who loves managing people and will guide them to greater performance success and continuously improve processes. Someone who is excited to quickly understand the current raw materials used to build our product, our finished goods, and our quality standards is ideal. Of course, strong communication and customer service skills will be required on day one as you interact with internal and external stakeholders and solve shipping challenges. 3+ years in shipping, receiving or logistics strongly preferred; manufacturing plant experience is a big plus! Other responsibilities are listed below. Generally, office hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Mon-Fri. You will be joining a team who is committed to continuous improvement and new ideas, flexibility in our processes to accomplish more than yesterday, and the freedom to do your job as a member of our tight-knit plant management team. We believe in accountability and ownership of the job we each do to make our plant successful. If you possess good technical shipping experience with computer proficiency, a proven servant-leader style and an organized, positive drive to accomplish a lot in a day, we’d love to hear from you!
