WHO YOU ARE

You will serve customers and extend great customer service by providing information to help with food and beverage selections, present order choices, and maintain a great dining experience by promoting a warm and friendly atmosphere.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Take customers’ food and beverage orders
  • Ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered to each table in a timely manner
  • Suggest appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
  • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience
  • Confirm orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever a clarification is requested
  • Assist with setting and rearranging tables to accommodate parties
  • Must know and understand menus and beverage lists
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area in order to have a clean, presentable and attractive facility and to satisfy state and local health board requirements.
  • Control allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed.
  • Receive proper payment from guest and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment in order to safeguard customer and company.
  • Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed.
  • Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service and facility.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information in order to provide quality customer service.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.

WHAT WE NEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

Experience and/or Training - One year server experience preferred, basic math skills (must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer), legible handwriting, and strong customer service and verbal communication skills. Must be 18 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and/or Training - Wine experience and/or certification

Technology/Equipment - MICROS and Square POS System

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to lift, carry, deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the work shift, balance serving tray on one hand while distributing orders to customers with the other, carry and set up folding table to support particularly heavy orders, stand and walk continually throughout a four to eight hour shift, bend, stoop and reach while carrying serving trays weighing up to 50 pounds, take customer orders, review customer bills and smoothly navigate dining room, kitchen and other facility areas, attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Protective Clothing Required: Non-slip shoes

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
