Basic Job Function: The Maison Kayser Server ensures Café guests are receiving the optimal dining experience. The Server is responsible for taking guest orders, making informed recommendations and attending to guests as needed. The Server provides excellent customer service and partners with Café team to provide a warm and welcoming environment. Tasks/Responsibilities: • Provide courteous and helpful customer service; ensure guests feel welcome and have an enjoyable dining experience • Determine guest needs and record guest orders; provide knowledgeable and thoughtful service to all guests, providing suggestions and alternatives as needed • Remain up to date on all menu items including seasonal items; must be able to discuss each menu items in detail • Recognize regular guests, become aware of their likes and dislikes; provide service to build and maintain customer loyalty • Use POS (Point of Sale) system for order entry and payment processing; ensure guest transactions are completed accurately • Partner with team and store management to ensure customer needs, questions, concerns and inquiries are addressed • Complete required training within allotted time • Support in the maintenance of the café’s cleanliness including service tools and service areas • Comply with and fully understand all NYC & Maison Kayser food safety and sanitation guidelines • Regular attendance and a consistent commitment to availability • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including company dress code; maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance • Additional duties/projects as directed by Store Management Minimum Requirements: • Understand and demonstrate the Maison Kayser's Core Values: Authenticity, Innovation, Quality, and Passion • Meet all Maison Kayser Behaviors: Teamwork, Willing to Learn, Open to Feedback, and Passion • Communicate effectively with customers and bakery/cafe personnel • Ability to handle a fast-paced, high volume environment • Excellent multitasking, follow-up and problem-solving skills • Excellent attention to detail and a collaborative attitude • Ability to stand and move about for extended periods of time; walk, kneel, reach, bend, etc.
