Summary: The Sr. Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Sr. Warehouse Manager in helping lead, direct and manage warehouse shipping supervisors. Assist in creating work schedules to optimize the use of personnel, equipment, and other resources to address daily, weekly and monthly workloads. The Sr. Warehouse Supervisor takes direction from the Sr. Warehouse Manager to assist with overseeing the supervisory staff to achieve KPIs and departmental goals. This may include on-time outbound schedules, through-put measurements of selectors, forklifts, and loaders. Working with the staff for continuous improvements of selection methods and product placement for optimal productivity. The Sr. Warehouse Supervisor also ensures Supervisory compliance with certifications, wage/hour laws, union rules and regulations, local state and Federal food safety regulations and OSHA compliance. The Sr. Warehouse Supervisor partners with the Shipping Supervisors to review weekly and monthly budgeted and financial reports to measure productivity and cost containment. Possess and applies interpersonal skills to motivate Supervisors to meet productivity requirements and informs the Sr. Warehouse Manager of any corrective actions needed to ensure DPI productivity requirements are met.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The employee must have proficient knowledge of English and basic math skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree is preferred. The employee must have prior supervisory roles and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in food distribution or a related field or combination of college and experience. The employee must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Oracle or AS400 experience is preferred, and the employee must be proficient in use of Oracle or AS400 at DPI within 90 days of hire. Must be able to operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and able to be certified by DPI. Must be able to meet requirements to be a powered industrial truck (PIT) trainer and be able to certify employees.
Work Environment: The work environment is typically indoors. The employee on occasion will perform outside work and would be exposed to local weather conditions. The floors may be concrete in the warehouse, vinyl or carpet on the interior and cement or asphalt outside. Moderate noise levels occur in the warehouse with powered industrial truck horns operating for safety.
Work Hours: The work schedule is either 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, or 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends.
Must be available at all times and shifts to respond to emergencies as a first responder.
Physical and Mental Demands: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently. This job also requires frequent standing and walking. Frequent use of the upper extremities is required to reach, handle, grasp and use tools, equipment, and manipulate product. The employee must know and follow proper office and safety and security protocols, including first responder duties and emergency procedures; know and follow DPI grooming, hygiene and dress code standards; able to train and certify employees to operate powered industrial trucks and other equipment; able to accurately and timely generate reports on operations and labor activity using Microsoft Office and Oracle applications.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Sr. Warehouse Supervisor oversees the operations of the warehouse and has oversight of the Supervisors and employees associated with the processes of product shipping and receiving. The Sr. Warehouse Supervisor will not have any management direct reports.
