What you'll be doing.

As a Senior Services Sales Executive in Tableau’s Customer Solutions team, you’ll be responsible for selling Tableau’s professional services offerings to both new and existing Tableau customers. This is a quota carrying role focused on understanding our customers’ business challenges and Tableau use cases to create solutions that drive value, adoption, and support customers’ successful transition/expansion with Tableau. You will be a key member of Tableau’s extended sales team and will be expected to work closely with the license sellers on creating solutions for our customers and supporting the end-to-end sales cycle. You will also align closely with our Customer Success organization to support ongoing customer needs and drive renewals.

Location: we are open to any major Metropolitan area in the East & Central Regions.

This role will cover the territory:

  • Canada Public Secto r - all Canada Government accounts (National & Provincial plus cities like Toronto).

  • U.S. Education vertical : K-12 & primarily HigherEd (colleges & universities) .

  • Non-profit organizations

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Meeting or exceeding assigned quota for professional services (includes consulting, support, and education offerings)

  • Maintaining an accurate forecast for revenue target achievement and pipeline, working collaboratively with account managers to ensure the CRM information is accurate and up-to-date with all professional services opportunities and details

  • Working collaboratively with the license sales team to support solution sales of the Tableau platform with the appropriate professional services offerings to ensure customer adoption, success, and rapid value achievement

  • Actively participating in sales meetings, clearly articulating the Tableau value prop and the benefits of investing in professional services towards the achievement of the clients’ stated goals and use cases

  • Leading scoping discussions and acting as the subject matter expert on all professional services offerings and engagements

  • Creating and presenting project proposals to clients for professional services solutions

  • Creating and presenting Statements of Work (SOWs) to clients for consulting engagements, working closely with Tableau’s Services Operations and Legal teams, and the customer to negotiate and close contracts.

  • Defining and executing services account plans and strategies in collaboration with the extended sales team

  • Attending and participating in QBUs with the extended sales team and the services practice

  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers to support customer success and adoption, to understand any changes in business needs or Tableau use cases, and to support the sale of additional services offerings as appropriate

  • Maintaining a solid understanding of all Tableau product lines and corporate messaging, both licenses and services.

  • Keeping abreast of competition, competitive differentiators, and product offerings

  • Traveling as needed to customer meetings and events

Who you are…

  • Experienced. 5+ years in a customer-facing position as a professional services seller, or project leader/engagement manager with an enterprise software company’s consulting organization. You are well-versed in handling a high volume of smaller, transactional deals in order to meet quota. You’ve worked in the enterprise space and have experience working with and selling to SLED & NFP accounts.

  • Domain Expert. Experience with professional services, customer success, enterprise software, analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, or business intelligence preferred. Bachelor's Degree with a technical or business focus preferred.

  • Performer. Consistent overachievement of sales goals in a large geographic territory. High customer satisfaction rankings or feedback.

  • Strong communicator, listener, and presenter. English & French language skills are a plus. You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it and you love the idea of sharing the Tableau story. You also know when and how to listen. You aren’t shy about speaking to or in front of a group of executives.

  • Team Player. You work well with a team and are a great collaborator. You know how to express your point of view while also valuing the contributions and opinions of others. You support your colleagues and are a key player in team-wins.

  • Go-Getter. Highly driven individual with a focus on execution and a strong sense of urgency. Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic. Self-directed and resourceful. You go beyond relationship management and have a passion for customer success.
