Senior Project Manager - Technical

Job summary: The Red Hat North America Public Sector (NAPS) Consulting team is looking for an extremely organized and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager to join us. In this role, you will manage high complexity projects to successful completion, from initiation, through delivery, to closure. You’ll need to be able to achieve excellent coordination of cross-functional teams to bring strategic projects to completion both on time and within budget. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll need to have substantial experience managing enterprise DevOps solutions and software consulting projects, relying on traditional systems, software development methodologies, and practical experience with agile project management methodologies. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.Primary job responsibilities:- Coordinate cross-functional team meetings, including customers, support, finance, sales, resource management, etc.
- Initiate, monitor and control, and close-out high-complexity projects
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks and resolve issues
- Manage a scrum team and lead agile ceremonies
- Develop and effectively present and communicate project collateral
- Coordinate with the Resource Management Office (RMO) to manage project staffing requirements
- Serve as a point of communication between the consulting team, the customers, and all other stakeholders
- Support accounting activities as required to include obtaining copies of receipts for finance invoicing queries
- Support the Operations team in procuring subcontractors
- Coach and mentor project managers
- Maintain exemplary level of professionalism when problem-solving and guiding issues to closure
- Develop foundational knowledge and maintain an awareness of emerging Red Hat’s technologies
- Ability to travel approximately 75% time or as needed
Required skills:- Knowledge of specific industry project management and technical delivery methodologies based on the Project Management Institute (PMI), system and software development, product development, scrum methods, etc.
- 8+ years of experience working as a project manager managing IT implementation-based projects
- 1+ year(s) of experience with transformational projects
- Ability to inspire, inspect, and adapt culture within consulting teams and customers
- Demonstrated ability to motivate project team and individual contributors and mediate conflicts
- Experience using various project management and agile tools and methodologies
- Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Project management certification like Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or equivalent
- Active Top Secret clearance
