Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. We are Lockheed Martin’s lead business unit for research, development and production of electro-optical and infrared sensing technologies for versatile, high-performance weapon systems.
Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Advanced Programs has a position for a Senior Program Manager for Advanced Sensors for Space Applications. Reports to the Director of IAMD Advanced Programs. Responsible for proposals for, and execution of, seeker programs, primarily in support of hypersonic and exoatmospheric applications. Program phases will include development, test, manufacture and delivery of IR seekers. Coordinates the primary Orlando team's effort with critical teammates in Santa Barbara, Sunnyvale, Dallas and various production sites. Represents MFC in discussions with LM Space.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead/motivate teams with varying levels of experience.

Working knowledge of IR seeker technologies and design, manufacture and test processes.

Experience in:

  • Program Capture and Proposal Development,
  • Program Management and Execution, including Earned Value Management
  • Integrated Master Plans / Integrated Master Schedules,
  • Risk Management,
  • Management of Subcontractors,
  • Communications, both written and formal presentations,
  • Talent Development.

Experience working in a Fast-paced, Advanced Program, and Department of Defense business environment.

A high degree of flexibility and the ability to travel within the US. Must be self-motivated and able to operate with minimal guidance and succeed in a highly competitive arena.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Current understanding of LM capture process, business strategy and business development processes.
Desired Skills:
Master’s Degree in Engineering / Physical Science; Mathematics, Statistics, Design of Experiments, Engineering, and/or Physics Knowledge.

Expert knowledge of IR seeker technologies and design, manufacture and test processes.

Experience leading programs that include multiple LM business areas.

Strategic Planning

Key role on a competitive new business capture team.

Experience developing opportunities from early concept/trend identification through qualification, deciding to bid, through proposal development and submittal.

Knowledge of IAMD Programs including DoD and competitor programs.

10 years of system development experience in Integrated Air and Missile Defense.

Operational military experience.

Proven and current knowledge of DoD Science & Technology environment and acquisition processes.
