About the Team

The Production Technology team develops, integrates, and manages an ecosystem of applications, services, and automation systems that powers Wayfair’s 3D & 2D pipelines, aiding Creative users as they compose, validate, and render digital assets. Within Production Technology, the Media Workflows group focuses specifically on production workflows & related functions for our 3D pipeline.

What You’ll Do

You will be at the center of all of the activities in the Production Technology team, focused on 3D production workflows. You will be supporting and empowering multiple engineering sprint teams by defining a product vision, strategy, and roadmap that will guide the team to work on the highest priority problems with the biggest impact for both our customers and for the rest of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Help to develop a strategic vision for Wayfair's 3D Pipeline
  • Evaluate technology gaps in the 3D Creative space against business & product objectives
  • Evaluate, propose & prioritize products (proprietary or third party) based on identified problems/gaps, knowledge of the industry & Wayfair working model
  • Optimize integrations of existing third party systems with Wayfair platforms
  • Partner with Engineering Managers to guide the SDLC process, prioritizing epics, stories, features and bugs and helping run day-to-day sprint sessions
  • Conduct product discovery, requirements gathering, user interviews/observations sessions, and other mechanisms to understand user needs & guide the product development process
  • Build relationships with Creative users and stakeholder organizations within Wayfair, and create transparent policies for working with these organizations
  • Create and implement processes to improve production support and shared operating models with our Creative and Business counterparts

Desired Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in product development
  • Product development experience in VFX, Gaming, or similar 3D industry preferred
  • Knowledge of production management systems, Digital Content Creation Systems (DCCs), asset review tools, rendering engines, render farm management systems, and other 3D asset production tools preferred
