Our Viasat Antenna Systems Technology (VAST) business segment designs and manufactures antenna systems that lead several satellite communication markets. With commercial and government solutions for air, land and sea on the most advanced satellite communications network in the world we are leading the way in antenna development. Viasat is a leader in airborne commination systems with over 3500 systems shipped, and a leader in enabling satellite connectivity with millions of user terminals shipped. The Mechanical Engineer is a key part of the Viasat Integrated Product Team and will have a significant impact on the design, development, and innovation impacting both the products and services that are key to Viasat’s long term goals and strategies. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to work on satellite telecommunications systems in a variety of applications including mobile land vehicles, maritime, and aircraft as well as fixed terminals. You will be responsible for all aspects of the physical design, as well as design for manufacturability, assembly, requirements verification (analysis and testing), design reviews, and productization. You’re a self-starter with keen analytical and problem-solving skills which enable you to resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative, as well as practical ways. You are empowered to collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team with strong personal ownership and vision to meet our performance requirements and drive innovation. You have the competencies to be the technical leader for projects and teams from inception through to completion.
