Job Description
Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Type: Full-Time – Telework
Salary: Negotiable
US Citizenship Required: Yes
An active or Interim Secret clearance
Responsibilities:
This position is for an Electrical Engineer who will provide Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI) technical support associated with a US Navy program. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will support areas of On-site Assessment, Analysis and Characterization, Exercise and Contingency Support, Tools and Data Management, and Situational Awareness. Work with Electrical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.
- Analysis on a single asset to an analysis of an infrastructure network. The predominant focus will be on:
- Telecommunications
- Energy Security
- Control Systems Analysis
- Provide technical support services for systems engineering and program analysis.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
- Travel to customer and project locations to coordinate electrical designs with team.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Level One: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 6 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- Level Two: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 9 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 15 years of relevant experience.
- Five (5) years of experience with electric power or complex building Electrical systems.
- US citizenship is required per contract requirement.
- An active or Interim Secret clearance is required. We may be able to sponsor clearances for the right candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft office programs, and other common computer programs
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Broad knowledge of the application of Electrical engineering design principles.
- Experience with operation of electric power assets and systems.
- Strong knowledge of engineering, design, and planning of transmission and distribution assets and systems.
- Experience with electrical power resource planning and analysis.
- Knowledge of power generation planning and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of power flow simulation, including experience in PowerWorld software or related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Electrical Engineering).
- Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
