This role is responsible for managing the status quo business as well as moving the strategic needle to transform our supply chain capabilities to adapt to the speed of the customer. This leader will be responsible to lead the operations team, from securing product to moving it across the first/ middle/ last mile, from vendor to distribution node to store/ customer, with focus on On-Time and In-Full, ensuring adequate capacity for storage and throughput while driving continuous improvement. To be successful, this individual should have experience in a quality/ safety focused, high volume multi-site distribution or manufacturing environment, along with advanced people leadership skills. A strong engineering or operations mindset is required to address the complexity, including: labor planning, inbound operations, receive, putaway, pick, pack, outbound operations, yard management, transportation, automation, equipment maintenance and reliability, capacity management, associate engagement, and productivity. This role will lead a network of thousands of associates and will be responsible to develop, inspire, invent, create culture and ensure associate retention. It is an extraordinarily complex leadership role, requiring an executive to balance flawless daily execution with the long-term development of a team. The role requires a detailed understanding and ability to balance every operational component of a facility/ network - from employee needs to IT, from robotics to process improvement. A successful executive will be able to provide strong vision and direction for the team while fostering bottoms up input and participation in process improvement from all levels of the organization. The Senior Director is responsible for guiding and developing leadership by motivating, mentoring, and coaching. They are responsible for engaging all Inventory Nodes in the Middle and Last Mile to maintain the highest levels of safety, production, cost, quality and service levels while ensuring a positive employee/ customer experience.
