Job Summary
Position responsible for providing advanced support of network components, as well as network planning and assessment.
Job Description
The Senior Digital Voice Engineer supports the enterprise voice technologies including but not limited to all Tier 1 and Tier 2 medical facilities, Operations Center, voice mail, voice and screen recording, and contact center voice platforms. Provide consultation and direct technical support in incident, problem and change management processes for all enterprise voice related issues. Liaison to internal and external customers, ensuring enterprise voice-related needs is met. Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, diagnostics and tuning.
Desired Skill Sets:
- 5yrs IT experience preferred
- IP Based Telephony System experience including: Call flow, Call center/systems, voicemail and PSTN gateways
- Voice or Data Network Operations or Engineering experience

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree preferred, not required
Licenses/Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional or equivalent certification/experience
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Three (3) years of network level experience in a medium to large network environment (500 to 30,000 nodes) and one (1) year of experience with configuration and troubleshooting of workstation or server network components
- Ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize complex network components such as switches and routers
- Understanding of the advanced concepts and interrelations of all topologies and protocols in the OSI model, as well as project management tools, framework, and methodologies
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor project team members and Network Engineers

Principal Accountabilities
- Installs, configures, and maintains basic to complex network components such as hubs, switches and bridges.
- Performs assessment, diagnosis and resolution of basic to complex network problems utilizing network analysis tools such as the Network Associates Sniffer.
- Assists in the planning of complex networks; responsible for planning of basic networks.
- Works on project teams to provide task assistance for large, complex projects.
- Leads small projects and provides task level assistance for complex research and development efforts associated with networks.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
