As a Senior DevOps Specialist, you will collaborate with development teams and DevOps to implement and mature these practices for our premier energy analytics web application, reporting directly to the DevOps Lead. Join us on our journey as a member of Enverus’ DevOps team in one of our Calgary AB, Denver CO, Austin TX, Conshohocken PA offices.
You would be joining the DevOps Chapter of the team developing Enverus Prism, our premier energy analytics platform. Through our continued growth, we have maintained a one-team culture, with even our most junior members having code running in production within their first few weeks. Performance Objectives

  • Design & Architecture: You know how to go Beyond the 12-factor App, and can collaborate with developers to employ those principles.
  • Build & Deploy: You strive to make app builds and deploys fast and reliably, for both traditional (Dev, pre-Prod, Prod) and ephemeral environments.
  • Test & Verification: You will collaborate with development and QA to ensure test automation gates our build and deploys.
  • Information & Reporting: You will work with the team to understand the use cases for metrics, telemetry, and traceability to monitor their applications and ensure they meet our business objectives.

Competitive Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years in DevOps/Development or 10+ in System Administration.
  • Highly proficient with Linux, scripting, and automation tools.
  • Extensive experience with Docker, containers, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Source control management concepts and systems, particularly Git and Github, well beyond just committing code and PRs.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD automation patterns and implementing them using Azure Pipelines or similar.
  • Experience working with teams to understand what telemetry and metrics are important and how to act that intelligence.
  • Fundamental knowledge of cloud hosting and resource management using Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with the Kubernetes landscape, the tools, and frameworks available to scale and decouple applications.
  • Observability in Grafana and Loki, PromQL and LogQL
  • Proficiency in one or more modern languages, we heavily use JavaScript (ES2015 and later), Python, and their associated dependency management, build, and test tooling.
