General Summary

The Senior Planner/Buyer position is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain management. This role will actively partner with Research & Development teams to provide direct procurement, materials management and demand planning support for assigned projects. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the supply chain.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks


Plan and execute procurement of raw materials from suppliers supporting all types of supplier raw materials and material data analytics, and performance metrics for indirect and direct supply base.

Maintain strong working relationships and communications with key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on?time deliveries.

Proactively report product and material availability issues.

Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components in conjunction with our program management teams.

Analyze and manage MRP, Source list, Material master/parameters.

Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, reduction and reserve percentage measurements.

Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in ERP system.

Supplier Management: RFQ, Cost saving initiatives, Negotiations, Supplier relationship/evaluation.

Project management: new product launch Provide support to Customer Service, Sales team, Product Management with business and product strategy.


Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns. Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.

Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy. Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.

Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies. Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.

Address demand?related issues in a timely and effective manner. Analyzing statistical data for forecasting and inventory planning

Participate and contribute to monthly inventory reduction program, management & metrics, S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process.

Complete special projects and assignments as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four?year college or university. The required major is Business, Operations, Supply Chain or equivalent.


Licenses and/or Certifications

APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM certification completed or in progress preferred


Experience

Requires five or more years of Supply Chain (planning & procurement) experience in clinical or R&D working environments.

Requires ERP systems experience.


Knowledge

Must obtain a working knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements and perform within all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Must have a working knowledge of supply and inventory practices.


Skills

Must have strong computer skills.

Must have excellent analytical/critical thinking skills.

Must have strong time management, public speaking, negotiation, and conflict management skills; strong organizational skills essential.

Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.


Abilities

Must be a self?starter and self?directed worker. Must be able to keep information confidential.

Must be able to work with interruptions, meet deadlines, and perform accurate work and/or reports. Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.

Must be professional, detail oriented, self?motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.


Working Environment

Works in a well?lighted, air conditioned and heated office. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend. Occupational Exposure Assignment ? Category II

Physical Requirements

Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye?hand coordination.

Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range. Required to lift and carry relatively light materials.
