Job Description:
The Senior Business Development Manager will develop, maintain, and implement new business opportunities, focused on high value accounts in emerging new markets within the health and wellness space, focused on supplement distribution. The ideal candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills, strong relationship building and negotiation skills with the ability to adapt to changing customer needs. The Senior Business Development Manager will develop and design a new business sales management plan that will focus on identifying and targeting new customers and a plan to enter into various new markets. You must be a strong leader who possesses strong motivational skills and strong consultative selling and negotiation skills that translates into hitting Company profitability and revenue targets.
What You'll Do:
- Build and sustain priority customer relationships founded on trust predominately via phone and email with as necessary in-person meetings
- Identifies and qualifies new large sales opportunities and develops plans for introducing new solutions
- Develop an effective strategy for all accounts, to include: account planning and management, growth initiatives, the post-sales implementation process, deal economics, metrics, and sale reporting tools
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, using effective questioning techniques to determine customer needs
- Support all supplier / product lines to drive profitable incremental revenue
- Maintain relationships primarily electronically by phone and email with strategic in-person meetings with designated priority accounts nationally
- Be available for customer "triage" in the event of customer need
- Participate in some key tradeshows
- Achieve Emerson sales and margin goals, every month/annually
- Work with VP of Sales and/or Director of Marketing on integrated marketing and sales initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:

- Familiarity with the integrative healthcare market, nutrition or medical device sales experience

- Experience in, and excellent presentation skills
- Self-motivated with a strong goal and results orientation
- Customer service focused
- Good analytical and time management skills
- Good decision making and problem solving skills to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum
- Science (biology, chemistry, microbiology) nutrition, or healthcare background a plus
- 5+ years of sales experience, with 3+ in the healthcare industry and/or service related consultative sales industry a plus
