Position Title: Senior Brand and Culture Specialist Location: Dallas, TX (North) or Austin, TX (South) Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications Grade: N-9 Employment Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt Summary: - The Brand Marketing and Culture Senior Specialist joins the Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas’ (PPGT’s) Marketing and Communications team to implement digital communications strategies in support of PPGT’s mission and services. This position is responsible for researching, recommending, implementing, tracking, and analyzing effective, innovative strategy for PPGT digital media properties, including all social media platforms, PPGT website properties, email, and other online representation of PPGT reaching approximately 20K people daily. This position is responsible for leading strategy to grow inbound/organic digital audiences, enhance engagement, in concert with all marketing and communications programs agency-wide, including outbound/paid marketing. Serves as department liaison to other externally-facing PPGT teams and external vendors to facilitate digital communication strategy agency-wide. Manages content creation for all digital platforms and related events/activities, including video, audio, print, and other digital materials. Ensures PPGT’s brand is correctly reflected in all printed and digital materials produced by PPGT or by outsourced vendors, including donor, education, outreach, and health center materials. Responsible for the drafting and review of communication materials and media. Assists in implementing PPGT’s communications calendar and successful completion of overall agency communications and marketing objectives, including coordinating cross-department and regionally. Essential Job Functions & Expectations - Works closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and Chief of External Affairs Officer to manage PPGT’s digital communications and marketing objectives, through strategic audience engagement online, and through drafting, review, and publishing/production of content provided through email, online, mail, and other products.
- Serves as in-house digital properties manager to oversee and implement social media content strategy, audience growth and engagement; ongoing content and design updates, responding to staff requests for PPGT website and digital properties updates, relevant data tracking and reporting.
- Curates social media content to support PPGT marketing and communications objectives and enhance online collaboration with ally organizations, influencers, and other PP affiliates with careful consideration of PPGT brand, C3/C4 content guidelines, tone, accuracy, and awareness of current events. Management of online content balances support of ongoing initiatives with rapid response to breaking news and other time-sensitive considerations.
- Serves as liaison between the marketing and communications team and other departments to support successful promotion and execution of events, campaigns, and other activities using PPGT digital media/properties. Manages and monitors access by other PPGT staff and third parties to PPGT digital properties as needed. Facilitates access to resources such as training and materials to expand agency use of digital properties and support quality execution of digital content created by other departments.
- Works closely with PPGT IT and other PP affiliate/national staff for ongoing website security, design, and strategy implementation.
- Works closely with supervisor and department colleagues, and external vendors/partners to support the goals of other departments using digital media, email, video, and other marketing materials, including support of patient recruitment, fundraising events, online giving campaigns, volunteer recruitment, educational programs, and others.
- Serves as PPGT lead on current national style guide, branding, and trademark policies to ensure PPGT compliance. Facilitate additional materials and processes to assist in brand, style, and trademark compliance across all departments.
- Provides proofing and copyediting support for projects as needed to ensure Planned Parenthood quality, brand, style and trademark standards are met.
- Works closely with supervisor and executive leader to support media strategy, response, and other communications objectives.
- Works closely with supervisor and external vendors to execute paid media campaigns, including competitive, multi-channel, region-wide patient recruitment campaigns.
- Provide support as researcher and copy writing for communications and marketing content including newsletters, email, fact sheets, one-pagers; press releases, letters-to-the-editor, text for digital media properties, etc.
- Drives the marketing and communications editorial calendar in coordination with department colleagues to ensure timely production and distribution of externally-facing content, media, and materials.
- Regularly supports and executes activities connected to sensitive or confidential aspects of PPGT’s work.
- Actively manages social media engagements including public-facing inquiries and comments.
- Tracks and reviews digital analytics on a monthly basis including google analytics, social media analytics, and email response reporting to ensure a data-driven strategy for online engagement.
- Produces timely and accurate reports to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and other constituents as needed.
- Maintains current understanding of PPGT’s health services; outreach initiatives; and presence in community; ensures that marketing promotions and campaigns match with PPGT’s strategic goals, priorities, and current structure.
- Coordinates with other PP affiliates in Texas to support statewide initiatives.
- Has restricted access to client private health information and has no reason to view protected health information (PHI). May have access to data that is not considered PHI, such as aggregate numbers.
- Ensures achievement of agency goals, vision and mission.

Minimum Education/Experience: - Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience or Associates degree with 4 years of relevant experience or H/S Diploma or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience
Experience Requirements: - Relevant experience: (may be combined) in any of the following: communications, digital media, marketing, journalism or related fields of which at least one year of experience must include full time managing business or organizational social media programs (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or other social media platforms). Must have some experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) platform management and editing. Preferred: HTML experience, graphic design, photography, and video editing.
Agency Standards: - Must have excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet. Must have the willingness and ability to adapt to change including advances or new technology. Must have excellent customer service skills and be committed to providing the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
