Role Summary

IIBA is looking for a Senior Accountant to join IIBA’s accounting team, ensuring an accurate set of accounting books and records, in compliance with GAAP and IIBA accounting policies in a well-controlled environment.


Accountabilities


  • Support with monthly financial close process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, all account reconciliations are completed, all journal entries are recorded.
  • Complete reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Prepare variance analysis on P&L and Bal Sheet accounts.
  • Support the annual audit process including preparing working papers, reviewing control documentation, in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Assist in annual Budget preparation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting and company policies and procedure.
  • Work in conjunction with other finance team members, providing back up and support as required.
  • Support Director and act as backup when required

Qualifications


The ideal candidate has


  • 3-5 years’ experience as a financial analyst/accountant including audit experience.
  • Working towards a CPA Designation is preferred
  • Exposure to Canadian tax filings.
  • Technology experience: QuickBooks, Fonteva/Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Products
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo and propose potential solutions.
  • Responsive/partnership approach whether working with other IIBA staff, vendors, members or partners.
  • Highly organized, responsive, methodical, and has attention to detail.
  • A collaborative and flexible style with a strong service mentality.
  • Excellent verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Unwavering commitment to integrity and high ethical standards
  • Working from home experience is considered an asset.
