JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant oversees the general accounting operations by confirming and verifying all financial transactions. The position responsibilities include reconciling account balances and Fixed Asset (CAPEX), maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures while ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks. The Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain fixed assets (FA) including recording fixed asset (CAPEX) acquisitions and dispositions; Assign Asset# and type; and reconciling balances to the general ledger.
- Maintain Prepaid Accounts and amortize schedule including preparing journal entries and reconciling balances to the general ledger
- Keep Track Marketing expenses with annual budget and reconcile by projects.
- Prepare journal entries, including month-end adjustment, reclassification, accrual expenses, and corporate allocations, review inter-co transaction, inventory report.
- Prepare reporting packages for month end, quarter end and management reports as needed
- Maintain, Reconcile and Analysis the Service related Costs (Direct and Indirect Cost)
- Prepare and assist in Lease Admin and Accounting Compliance (ASC842 / IFRS 16)
- Ensuring all accounting procedures, records, and reports conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and requests as needed
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrate broad business and accounting knowledge; describe generally accepted accounting practice (GAAP) and IFRS.
- Demonstrated success in managing and providing hands on support for all accounting functions including accounts payable fixed assets, general business tax requirements and reconciliations.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, graphs and database software.
- Ability to distinguish between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; note the specifics of events and experiences; explain, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensure that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail
- Demonstrates an understanding of basic financial concepts such as cash flows, operating profit/loss, and net income; conduct financial analysis
- Addresses and resolves issues impacting information systems reporting; look for ways to minimize close time and improve close process
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or closely related discipline, required.
- A minimum of 7 years of general ledger experience in a corporate accounting function preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS
- Very strong analytical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc….)
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
- Ability to record, prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations required.
- Must have experience using Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards or related enterprise system in a professional capacity.
- Ability to help process and lead the month-end close process strongly preferred.
