1. Routine interior and exterior patrols of the buildings and grounds. 2. Conducts safety checks and inspections in support of Life Safety and OSHA compliance. 3. Operates company vehicles in accordance with established policies and applicable laws. 4. Provides relief for Gatehouse Officers on as needed basis; screens & logs visitors per the Gatehouse SOP, and adheres to Gatehouse Policy at all times. 5. Enforces all traffic and parking regulations. 6. Receives calls for service from dispatch and security by radio or telephone and responds timely and appropriately. 7. Responds to medical emergencies and provides and directs prompt, efficient care to the ill and injured utilizing all basic interventions as outlined in the ERP Protocols and the EL Integrated Healthcare Model. 8. Communicates effectively with campus physicians regarding the care of residents. 9. Deals with medical and emotional needs of any victim of acute illness or injury with the goal of reducing mortality and morbidity; Provide reassurance to patients & bystanders. 10. Complies with regulations in handling the deceased, notifies authorities, arranges for protection of property and preserves evidence. 11. Responds to reports of missing items, theft, vandalism, and other potential criminal activity 12. Responds to accidents involving vehicles, employees, residents, visitors, and property. 13. Responds and assists in Community Emergencies, including but not limited to; fires, floods, severe weather, hazardous materials incidents, bomb threats and evacuations. 14. Responds and assists with searches of missing residents. 15. Performs scene size-up to determine scene safety and requests additional help if needed. 16. Utilizes local police, fire, and EMS, effectively during emergencies. Completes thorough and detailed incident reports using our online report system. 17. Participates in QA/QI activities for improved patient care and resident satisfaction. 18. Acts ethically with empathy, integrity, and compassion; maintains patient confidentiality. 19. Carries out conduct in a courteous, helpful, dignified and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, employees, and the public. 20. Practice positive resident relations; responds to resident and family inquiries, concerns or problems. 21. Displays a caring and respectful demeanor towards residents, families and staff. 22. Reports any reasonable suspicion of crime as required by the Federal Elder Justice Act (42 U.S.C.A.) 23. Reports any concerns of violations of policy or misconduct via established procedures. 24. Performs daily inspections of program equipment to ensure an adequate stock level of supplies and cleanliness/readiness of equipment. Replaces supplies used to maintain PAR levels. 25. Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development as evidenced by participation in classes and seminars that facilitate enhancement of EMR knowledge base. 26. Responsible for maintaining licenses and certifications required for continued employment. 27. Satisfactorily completes all annual requirements, competencies and skills review. 28. Demonstrates knowledge of the SES department policies and procedures. 29. Regularly attends staff meetings and in-service training. 30. Meets attendance and punctuality guidelines. 31. Performs additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Asst. Supv., or Manager to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Community. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: LANGUAGE SKILLS: LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: 1. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. 2. Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification. 3. Current Emergency Medical Responder certification. (Higher level certification/licensure is acceptable as a condition of hire, however new hires will be required to obtain EMR certification within 30 days.
