The Town of Cary is looking for enthusiastic individuals at least 18 years of age to work in all weather conditions as part of our seasonal facilities maintenance temporary pool. Hours are available for both weekday and weekend assignments on several shifts, including some holidays. Work assignments will last approximately 5 1/2 months, beginning in late February. TYPICAL TASKS: Preparing and maintaining ball fields using small, powered and unpowered equipment (weed eater, mower, blower, shovel, rake); KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Prefers candidates with a knowledge of baseball/softball field preparation and/or experience operating small landscaping equipment. MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years old;
Maintenance needs include a wide variety of on-field and facility functions; top dressing, soil dragging, mowing, fixing mounds and plates, mulching, grading as well as pruning, pressure washing, and various off-field facility maintenance projects.
Assisting with other athletic events or Town of Cary programs/special events as needed;
Performs other job-related tasks as required.
Requires a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record;
Must be reliable and punctual;
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, bend, push/pull, and heavy lifting.
Requires drug testing and background check (with may include criminal check, education verification, and credit history review).
