JOB SUMMARY
The “on call” seasonal position(s) is responsible for the delivery of winter maintenance operations and snow and ice control, operation of snowplows, performing maintenance on highways. During inclement weather, the seasonal worker will operate and maintain highway equipment, such as dump trucks, front end loaders, and tractors; clear snow and ice from roadways; apply chemicals on road surfaces and perform heavy manual labor.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate winter maintenance equipment such as snowplows, salt spreaders, sidewalk cleaners, combination units, etc. as required
Certification to operate heavy machinery such as a Loader and Skidsteer.
Process removal of snow and ice on major highways and ramps.
With truck deposits brine and or salt on highways in snow events.
Minor repair work including, but not limited to replacing blubs, filling pre and post trip reports and cleaning windshields. .
Use all equipment safely with three point contact entering and exiting equipment.
Drive standard shift vehicles.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must possess strong truck driving skills.
Strong work ethics and attention to detail
Good customer service skills
Previous snow removal with CCL preferred.
Have a current valid CDL driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Must have transportation to and from Company office.
Be able to lift fifty to sixty pounds (50 - 60lbs.).
Be able to drive manual transmission truck.
Work experience on a road crew is a definite plus.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends if needed and to respond to emergency calls and weather related operations within 120 minutes.
Be able to comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy.
Must pass Fingerprint based criminal history background check.
