Seasonal Aquatic Center Attendant Details

Under general supervision, assists in the operation of the facilities that require the collection of monies for admissions, programs and concessions within the Aquatic Center and performs related work as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate concession stand including the preparation and serving of food.
  • Collect fees, make change, prepare deposits, and submit reports of fees collected.
  • Check all swim passes to ensure validity.
  • Set-up concessions and other areas of responsibility for daily use and following closing procedures for the same.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of items needed in the work area.
  • Perform routine clean-up duties in the immediate concession area, walkway and eating area within the facility.
  • Enforce and follow pool rules and regulations at all times.
  • Take care of equipment and store equipment properly.
  • Attend and contribute at in-service training sessions and meetings.
  • Reports to Supervisor- items in need of repair.
  • Adheres to rules and regulations, encompassing communication, working relations, job reliability and initiative, safety, accomplishment of work tasks and supervision.
  • Provide information concerning use of the facility, including rules and regulations.
  • Keep accurate record of daily revenue and inventory.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
  • Presents professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Maintains a high standard of customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

This position must possess the ability to understand and apply mathematic concepts. Ability to operate a cash register; make general arithmetic computations accurately and with reasonable speed; work hours as scheduled; enforce safety and health regulations; focus attention on tasks, which may be routine or repetitive, without losing concentration or becoming distracted by external activities; adapt to interruptions; equipment failures, unusual demands or changing priorities; maintain constant observation of an assigned area and note any sign of impending trouble that may escalate into a dangerous situation and immediately advise a supervisor of the situation. In this position you must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and understand written and oral instructions and procedures. This position must also have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public; communicate effectively with patrons and staff; and read and interpret policy manuals established for work environment.
