Reports to the Principal.
Part-Time: Up to 5 hours a day. August 16, 2021- June 3, 2022.

Job description:
Leadership

  • Teachers are responsible to prepare and execute plans for a safe, spiritual, developmentally appropriate environment for the students in their care.
  • The science teacher will provide classroom instruction in various middle and high school curriculum levels.
  • Must have computer skills to employ computer programs to post grades and communicate with parents.
  • Have the willingness to learn how to use google classroom.
  • Display a willingness and ability to assist in total school programs and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain clear, open, and professional communication with parents.
  • To work with the administration to keep parents adequately informed of student discipline.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all science projects and curriculums from a Biblical worldview.
Excellence, Commitment
  • Work with the Principal (Founder), the Administrative team, students, and families to create a dynamic biblically integrated learning environment that promotes excellence in academics and spiritual life.
  • Provide opportunities, through classroom management, for students to practice skills and behaviors.
  • Use real-life experiences to train and sharpen students' comprehension of science.
  • Planning, developing and executing lessons that reflect Abeka's curriculum and the school's educational standards.
  • Adapting the science curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students or subgroups of students.
  • Science curriculum encompasses earth to space, biology, physical science, and others depending on the specific year.
  • Evaluating the academic and social growth of students.
  • Evaluating student progress and the ability to meet course standards in science facts.
  • Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
  • Planning and developing lesson plans and teaching outlines.
  • Employing a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing, including demonstrations, discussions, and lectures.
  • Possess the ability and knowledge of leadership over these specific grade levels.
  • Special training in science is preferred with a natural ability to teach various grade levels in the classroom setting.
  • Evaluate each student’s growth, performance, and understanding in relation to the level being taught.
  • Enter grades and comments for progress reports and report cards in the learning management database.
  • Communicate with families of the students through the Class Dojo app.
  • Communicate with ACA staff on the GroupMe app.
  • Participate in once a month Team Huddles with the ACA staff. And last-minute meetings as they arise.
  • And of course, the “anything that’s asked beyond this job description.”
