School Social Worker

AnthroMed Education is a growing practice of Social Workers aligned with schools throughout the state of Illinois that focuses on Special Education caseloads with pre-K-12th grade schools. Our organization is immediately hiring a School Social Worker for one of our school partners in Villa Park. The SSW will be supporting K-5th grade students at two buildings (It is the same campus, just the buildings are split. -They are two minutes from each other). There is a current full-time SSW who works across both buildings and the team would like to get some more support into the buildings. They may look at splitting the caseload between the schools so that there is a full-time SSW at each building or, they may split the caseload so they each are at both buildings, this is still to be determined. Caseload details are to follow. This role is full-time, onsite through the end of the school year.

School Social Worker Duties:

• Promote a school climate and culture conducive to student learning.
• Utilize effective practices that provide for safe environments and supportive relationships.
• Provide advocacy, child welfare, and case management services to students.
• Assess, identify, and provide clinical interventions to students with emotional, social, attendance and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population.
• Works with parents and children in a confidential and caring manner and assists the family, school, and community in any way required to bridge gaps between family and schools.
• Coordinate, develop, and facilitate professional development for teachers, staff, and administrators around social/emotional learning, self-care, and trauma-sensitive schools.
• Attends meetings and professional development activities as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

School Social Worker Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in School Social Work (MSW) is required
• Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement is required
• Previous experience in a school setting is encouraged
• Ability to work both individually as well as in a team-based environment with parents, teachers, students, and administrators
