Independently perform and work cooperatively with Food Service Manager and Staff to collect and accurately account for cash received during food service sales; to assist in the performance of Food Service Programs at the Site. Incumbents may perform all or most of the primary accountabilities listed below. Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent’s performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or manager. Collect and post money into student and staff accounts. Accounts for all funds and handle as required. Answer phone messages, emails, and make necessary phone calls to parents regarding accounts. Display/demonstrate thorough knowledge of HACCP food safety guidelines and procedures. Collect and account for prepayment of student meals. Maintain appropriate change fund for registers. Accurately perform cashiering and end of day procedures. Assist in food preparation, clean up, and occasionally serving. Monitor lunch/ breakfast selections to ensure Federal guidelines for reimbursable meals, are met. May assist in placing orders and performing inventory. Ensures product quality by visual inspection to maintain customer satisfaction. Performs duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner as directed. Education, Licensure, or Certification High School diploma or equivalent. Current Food Handler’s Certificate. Work Experience or Related Experience Previous experience in handling money desired. Ability to make change and perform other mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to operate computerized cash registers. Knowledge of and adheres to all District and Department policies, as well as State and Federal Regulations. Vision and hearing adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner. Read and write English as it pertains to job function. Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Function effectively as a team member. Be flexible and adaptable to change. Exercise positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills. Establish and maintain courteous, cooperative, working relationships with students, staff and parents. Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job. Follow policies, guidelines, procedures, and directives. Work with a large cross section of people in a professional and non-judgmental manner. Share sensitive student and staff information on a need to know basis. The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times Travel between campuses is required from time to time. This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion. This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration. Local and in-state travel required.
