Overview
: USAP is seeking a detail oriented and motivated Scheduler to join our Las Vegas, NV team. The scheduler performs all aspects of Anesthesia scheduling as defined by the specific needs of the division to include but not limited to: Answering all incoming calls from surgeon’s staff, hospitals, surgery centers and patients.
Job Highlights
:- Makes the schedule for the next day- data entry on all incoming cases via, email, fax or phone calls, resolves any discrepancies and resolves conflicts by communication with hospitals and surgeon’s office staff.
- Maintains the list of surgeon/provider preferences.
- Makes sure the division has the sufficient staff to cover all surgeries. This includes keeping the call rotation current at all times with the help of the physician scheduler
- Makes preliminary assignments then sends it to the physician scheduler to either approve or make changes.
- Updates and publishes the schedule as well as emails / faxes it to the division providers.
- Notifies the surgeons and hospital staff and answering service of any changes in the call rotation and makes sure the hospitals have the assignments for the surgeries for the next day.
- Post all cases according to division specifics to include general patient demographics, procedure, diagnosis, location, time of case and estimated time required for completion.
- Coordinate next day’s schedule with designated physician; coordinate all added, emergency and changes to current day’s schedule with designated physician.
- Notify all physicians of his/her schedule according to division requirements on a daily basis including faxing, web and voice mail; report delinquent notification letters to the appropriate physician.
- Maintain daily/monthly call schedules, meetings and vacation schedules and notes it on daily schedules and distribute accordingly.
- Maintain at least one year prior scheduling history and support documentation.
- Ensures timely and accurate filing of future and past request, surgery schedules and past schedules.
- Provide cross coverage to all divisions as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
:
- Experience with a multi-line phone system. Ability to handle a large volume of phone and computer work.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from the groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work shifts varying daily from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, including overtime when needed.
