We are hiring immediately for a Sanitation Supervisor! The position of Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for directing all sanitary and food safety functions. This is a high-visibility role and of great significance to our organization with considerable responsibilities requiring individuals capable of leading and working in a team environment. The Sanitation Supervisor; plans, directs and supervises all Sanitation Technicians, as well as adhering to all sanitary practices and procedures related to all; local, state, and federal food processing guidelines along with all internal company food safety and sanitary practices and procedures. While working primarily in the Kettle and Packaging areas, other cleaning duties in the warehouse areas will be accomplished on a scheduled basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and train all Sanitation Technicians as required.
- Interpret and implement sanitation procedures
- Assist to evaluate adequacy of sanitation procedures
- The three primary functions of Sanitation is to a) tear down processing equipment to its basic components to facilitate thorough cleaning, b) removal of all food residues and soils from all food contact surfaces including a final sanitizing step, and c) the rebuilding of all processing machines and components.
- Additionally, the Sanitation Team is responsible for fulfillment of assigned plant and facility Master Sanitation cleaning schedule routines, and additional functions as assigned
- Secondary functions include light maintenance work (painting, etc.).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Proven experience as a sanitation technician or relevant role
- The ability to effectively manage time and multiple tasks while leading and motivating a team of subordinates
- Ability to operate in a systematic and logical manner while making good decisive decisions based on; critical thinking, problem solving, and all around good judgement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Human resource principles and practices
- Mechanical disassembly and reassembly of pumps, piping systems, and filling machines
- Working with Foaming cleaners and chemicals
- Other duties and assignments as needed or required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Positive attitude and team player. Attention to detail, calm under pressure, and good communication skills
- High School degree, diploma, or GED
- Mechanical skills/aptitude
- Ability to read and write in English language
- Ability to be standing and walking for long periods of time
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must have one year experience in a supervisory role
