GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible to manually or mechanically receive, store, handle and/or move specialty wood products material within the Distribution Center of his/her own creation, based upon mechanical drawings, sketches or creative concepts in support of Marketing and Operations projects and events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- As assigned, complete training and daily inspections for safe and proper daily handling of:
o Material handling equipment
o Propane cylinder exchange and storage
o Securing of dock doors, dock locks, dock leveler and wheel chocks
o Saw Operation
- Perform work in compliance with quality requirements including:
o Count accuracy
o Quality inspection
o Proper unit preparation for shipping
o Bin integrity maintenance
o Careful product handling
o Identification / removal of damage
o Proper put backs
o Design or produce specialty wood products
o Ability to use specialized wood crafting tools
o Ability to read and interrupt design plans
- Perform work in compliance with safety policies and procedures including:
o Safe work standards
o Proper lifting and stacking techniques
o Power truck operations, including safe pedestrian standards
o Housekeeping standards
o Proper banding, stacking, palletizing and bin management
o Incident and near miss reporting
o Ensure Proper LOTO procedures are being followed
- Comply with security requirements for badge-swipes for building entry and exit, security of gates and doors, and no weapons policies
- Perform special handling duties including quality inspection, relabeling and repalletizing
- Attend work on time as scheduled and comply with other human resource and distribution center guidelines and standards, including but not limited to policies regarding protection of company assets.
- Perform duties of other job categories of which one is qualified, as directed
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work extended hours as required.
- General understanding of blueprints and schematics. Ability to implement advance Carpentry skills
- Ability to make precision and intricate cuts
- Sand Products using sand paper or sander
- Paint, Stain or coat products with lacquer or varnish
- Operate specialized pieces of wood working machinery
- Ability to use and understand a measuring tape
- Ability to operate scanning equipment
- Ability to work safely with power tools
- Ability to effectively communicate directly with Supervisor, Leadperson and peers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, square footage and distance.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
- 6+ months of experience and demonstrated proficiency in wood working and material handling skills; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Wood Working tools and Equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a loud distribution center and manufacturing environment, with exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
