Food runners:
Assist the wait-staff and deliver food to the tables. Assist take-out staff and box and run food to take-out area.
Know what the dish is supposed to look like, since food runners are the last ones to look at the dish before presenting to a customer.
Perform some secondary tasks such as cleaning tables, bussing tables, filling glasses, at times taking orders and even assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining their work areas.
May be required to answer questions about the food and the facility’s service while serving the food.
Fold boxes, stock take-out station and runner station.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Well-organized.
Ability to operate seating software.
Ability to multi-task.
Education and Experience:
Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
Must successfully complete restaurant’s training course.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
