Texas Health Hospital Frisco — a health care campus designed to be a destination for the residents of Frisco and surrounding communities – opened in December 2019.

Texas Health Frisco is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a newly created PRN Level II position.

Salary set PRN II rate: $39.00/hr plus shift differentials


Work Schedule:

  • PRN Level II: On an as needed basis, 6:45AM-7:15PM,

32 hours per month with 1 weekend/shift per month and 1 major & 1 minor critical staffing/holidays per year; self-scheduling. Flexible with schedule.

Department:

  • 12-bed Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) setting
  • 2 OB/ED bays and 2 Pre-Op beds for C-Section prep
  • 1 Antepartum room; 2 triage rooms; 2 OR suites and 2 Recovery rooms
  • OB Hospitalists; 24/7 Anesthesia
  • Will Float to Mother/baby, couplet care area; assist with breastfeeding education
  • Will catch babies
  • Equipped with a 22-bed Maternal/Newborn department and a 6-bed Level II NICU

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) is Required;

Completion of BSN within two years of earliest start date in a Texas Health RN role is required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

  • 2 Years’ clinical nurse (RN) experience Required - current experience as a Labor & Delivery RN.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire is required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required upon hire
  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal monitoring (EFM) certification within 6 months of hire

Skills
• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients
  • Primary Charge RN experience is a plus
  • Preceptor RN experience is beneficial
  • Flexibility with schedule is key!
  • Computer skills in Care Connect/ EPIC charting are helpful
